American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is the national professional association established in 1917 to represent the interests and concerns of occupational therapy practitioners and students of occupational therapy and to improve the quality of occupational therapy services.
Arkansas Gerontological Society As baby boomers move into retirement and our senior population continues to grow, we are experiencing an increasing need for services and support for our aging population. While geriatrics focuses on the physical aspects of aging, primarily concentrating on providing medical treatment, gerontology takes a more holistic approach. Gerontologists study the changing mental, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual needs of aging adults. In gerontology, we aim to improve overall well-being and quality of life through understanding these changes and developing strategies to help aging populations adjust to this stage of their lives. The AGS is a nonprofit organization focused on providing resources and education for aging Arkansans.
Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association (AROTA)
The membership of the Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association is comprised of licensed therapists, retired therapists and students enrolled in Occupational Therapy educational programs around the state. The growth of our organization depends on the support of its members to help maintain the voice of Occupational Therapy within our state in regards to legislative issues. With membership in the Arkansas Occupational Therapy Association, members of our profession have a stable and uniform voice to promote quality occupational therapy services to consumers in our community.
